UR Routine
Urine Routine Examination (Urine R/E) is a common diagnostic test used to analyze the physical, chemical, and microscopic properties of urine. It helps assess overall health and detect a wide range of conditions related to the urinary system, kidneys, and metabolic disorders.
The test includes evaluation of parameters such as color, clarity, pH, specific gravity, presence of glucose, protein, ketones, bile salts, bile pigments, and microscopic examination for cells, crystals, bacteria, and casts. Abnormal findings may indicate conditions like urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney disease, diabetes, liver disorders, or dehydration.
The Urine R/E test is simple and requires a urine sample, usually a clean midstream specimen. It provides quick and valuable information that helps doctors diagnose various conditions early, monitor treatment, and ensure proper management of a patient’s health.
