Peritoneal Dialysis Fluid Test is a laboratory examination used to check dialysis fluid for signs of infection or inflammation in people undergoing peritoneal dialysis. It may be recommended when symptoms such as abdominal pain, cloudy dialysis fluid, fever, or unusual discomfort are present. The fluid may be examined through cell count, microscopy, and culture to identify possible infection. Results should be interpreted promptly along with symptoms and clinical findings.
