MYCOBACTERIAL PCR

Mycobacterial PCR is a molecular test used to detect the genetic material of Mycobacterium species in a clinical sample. It may be recommended when tuberculosis or another mycobacterial infection is suspected, especially with symptoms such as persistent cough, fever, night sweats, or unexplained weight loss. The test can support rapid detection of mycobacterial infection. Results should be interpreted along with symptoms, medical history, and other TB investigations.
