HbA1C
The HbA1c test measures the average blood glucose (sugar) levels over the past 2–3 months by assessing the percentage of hemoglobin that is coated with sugar (glycated). It is one of the most important tests for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes, as it provides a long-term picture of blood sugar control rather than a single-time measurement.
Higher HbA1c levels indicate poor blood sugar control and may suggest diabetes or an increased risk of developing diabetes. It is also used to monitor how well diabetes is being managed over time.
