GENEXPERTS MTB PCR

GeneXpert MTB PCR is a molecular test used to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB), in a clinical sample. It can also help identify resistance to rifampicin, an important TB medicine. The test may be recommended when symptoms such as persistent cough, fever, night sweats, or unexplained weight loss suggest TB. Results should be interpreted along with symptoms, medical history, and other TB investigations.
