COMPLETE HAEMOGRAM
A Complete Haemogram, also known as a Complete Blood Count (CBC), is a detailed blood test that evaluates the overall health by analyzing different components of blood. It includes measurements of hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), platelets, hematocrit (HCT), and red cell indices such as MCV, MCH, MCHC, and RDW. This test provides a comprehensive overview of blood composition and body functions.
The complete haemogram helps in diagnosing a wide range of conditions such as anemia, infections, inflammation, bleeding disorders, and certain blood diseases. Abnormal values can indicate nutritional deficiencies, bone marrow disorders, or chronic illnesses. It is commonly recommended during routine health check-ups, pre-surgical evaluations, or when symptoms like fatigue, fever, weakness, or unexplained illness are present.
The test is simple, quick, and requires only a small blood sample. Accurate and timely results enable doctors to diagnose conditions early, monitor treatment progress, and ensure effective management of a patient’s overall health.
