ANTI SMOOTH MUSCLE

Anti-Smooth Muscle Antibody (ASMA) is a blood test used to help evaluate autoimmune liver conditions, particularly autoimmune hepatitis. It may be recommended when liver enzymes are persistently elevated or when symptoms such as fatigue, jaundice, or abdominal discomfort are present. The test detects antibodies that may react against smooth muscle components. Results should be interpreted along with liver function tests and other clinical findings.
