ANTI MITOCHONDRIAL A

Anti-Mitochondrial Antibody (AMA) is a blood test used to help evaluate certain autoimmune liver conditions, particularly primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). It may be recommended when there are abnormal liver function tests, persistent fatigue, or other signs of liver-related problems. A positive AMA result can support the evaluation but does not confirm a diagnosis on its own. Results should be interpreted along with liver tests, symptoms, and medical history.
